Celebrating Umpire Appointments - 2025 NetballSmart Netball NZ Open Champs and NZ Secondary Schools Netball Champs

91ɫƬ is delighted to announce the umpires selected for two of our pinnacle domestic events – the 2025 NetballSmart Netball NZ Open Champs in Christchurch (10–13 September) and the NZ Secondary Schools Netball Champs in Porirua (30 September–3 October).

Twenty umpires have been appointed to the NetballSmart Netball NZ Open Champs, and 16 umpires to the NZ Secondary Schools Netball Champs, reflecting the depth of talent within our national umpiring pathway.

“These events are highlights on our domestic calendar, both for the competition on court and the opportunities they provide for our umpires,” said NNZ National Technical Officials Manager Josh Bowring. “For umpires, they are four days full of growth, teamwork, and learning, alongside the chance to put their skills to the test in high-pressure match environments.

“We’re proud of the depth of officiating talent we have across Aotearoa and excited to see this group showcase their ability. Both groups will be strongly supported by our national squad coaches, making these tournaments a fantastic opportunity for development.”
