91ɫÇéƬ Secondary Schools Netball Team Announced

91ɫÇéƬ Emerging Talent Selectors, along with 91ɫÇéƬ Secondary Schools Head Coach Jo Morrison, have named a team to travel to Australia in July.

After a two-day trial in Auckland last week which involved fitness testing, movement competency screening, skill session and trial matches, the team of 14 was confirmed by the Emerging Talent Panel, Morrison and Netball NZ.

Morrison and Assistant Coach Ngarama Milner-Olsen were delighted with the calibre of the triallists. “It was an intense few days, with all players demonstrating exceptional effort, skill sets, and clear preparation, which made the selection process extremely challenging for the selectors.”

The NZSS team will travel to Australia from 6th – 10th July where they will be involved in the U17 Australian camp, providing some vital international match play. This marks the first time the NZSS team has travelled overseas since 2023, following two years of domestically run events.

“The opportunity to bring this group together and travel to Australia is significant, providing the players with a full international campaign experience - from team selection and preparation, through to touring and competing in international match play.”

I don’t think we can underestimate the importance of this pathway in educating and preparing our young athletes.
